Description
A Hard Disk Drive (HDD) is a type of computer storage device that uses magnetic storage to store and retrieve digital data. It consists of one or more spinning disks, called platters, coated with a magnetic material. The HDD image may show the rectangular or square-shaped device with a metal casing. It may also show the connectors or ports for data and power connections. The platters rotate at high speeds while a read/write head moves across them to read or write data. HDDs come in different capacities, such as 1TB, 2TB, 4TB, and so on, and they connect to the computer via SATA, IDE, or other interfaces. HDDs are known for their relatively high storage capacity and cost-effectiveness. They are commonly used for long-term storage of data, such as operating systems, applications, files, and multimedia content. However, HDDs are slower in terms of data access and have mechanical components that can be prone to wear and failure over time.
