Description

Milk thistle, also known as Silybum marianum, is a plant native to Europe and Asia and has been used for centuries for its medicinal properties. The plant’s seeds contain a flavonoid complex called silymarin, which has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and has been traditionally used to treat liver and gallbladder problems. Milk thistle is commonly taken in the form of capsules or teas and is also used in some cosmetics and skin care products. While there is some evidence to support its potential health benefits, more research is needed to fully understand the effects of milk thistle on human health.
